Morocco is the gateway to Saharan Africa. An exotic land with a unique mix of Arabic, European and Berber cultures that can be traced back to the country’s colonial past and its geographical location on the north-western tip of Africa. It is the safest country on the continent and Moroccans are friendly and accommodating towards tourists. Apart from its cultural diversity, the country is also known for its cuisine, art and ever-changing landscapes, which makes it an exciting country for a road trip!
The Moroccan road trip appeared on the MotoRover tour calendar in 2019 and we have already completed five successful tours in the country with over 50 travelers. Our nine-day self-drive car tour of Morocco will start and end in the financial capital of the country, the city of Casablanca. Enjoy a walking tour of the city and visit important sites like the Hassan II mosque and the Medina (old town) along with your fellow travelers.
Drive will begin the following day and you will explore this country for the next one week in a rugged 4x4 SUV. Conquer the scenic high altitude passes in the ATLAS mountain ranges, camp in luxury tents in the sand dunes of SAHARA DESERT at MERZOUGA, explore the blue town of CHEFCHAOUEN, shop for local artefacts in the famous souqs of MARRAKECH, visit the old tanneries of FEZ and explore the narrow alleys in the Medina of these ‘Imperial cities’.
A MotoRover guide will lead this tour from a car in front and our convoy will be followed by a support car that carries tools, first aid kit and a mechanic.
We have designed this tour after a thorough on-ground exploration of Morocco to give you a refined and seamless travelling experience. The terrain is enjoyable for amateurs as well as experienced drivers and the daily driving distances have been crafted to provide you with ample breaks and photo opportunities. Group size will be limited to 20 participants and apart from the cars and support team, the tour package includes fuel, airport pickup/drop, veg/non-veg meals, accommodation in boutique hotels and Riads and local sightseeing. All you have to do is arrive and drive!
